Ahmad Yani Street in Kediri City is one of the main corridors connecting various activity centers, but it often experiences traffic congestion, especially during peak hours. One of the main causes is the suboptimal coordination between traffic light intersections, especially the Insinyur Sutami intersection and the Imam Bonjol intersection, which are close to each other. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of traffic signal coordination on the length of delays and vehicle queues in order to improve traffic performance in the area. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with primary data collection in the form of road geometric data, traffic volume, signal cycle time, and secondary data from related agencies. The analysis was carried out using the 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (PKJI) approach, to calculate vehicle volume in PCU units, degree of saturation, queue length, delays, as well as bandwidth and signal offset. The results of the study show that the peak hour traffic volume on each intersection arm has different characteristics, with the highest volume at the Imam Bonjol Intersection being 1184 pcu/hour on the southern arm of Jalan Ahmad Yani. Optimizing signal bandwidth through coordination of cycle time and offset between intersections can improve the level of service of the road network from C to E, thereby reducing delays and increasing traffic flow. In addition, this study also shows that there is a close relationship between traffic volume and the degree of saturation in determining the effectiveness of traffic light intersection coordination, so optimizing intersection coordination based on traffic volume and the degree of saturation can significantly reduce queue length and delay time. The results of this study can be used as a reference to improve the performance of the road network in Kediri City.
